Its not enough to gain more as we grow old. Its about what we were able to give when someone needed help. Its not about getting as much out of this lifetime, but about giving back what we took from this world. Its not about being rewarded for a job well done but knowing that even without recognition, we’ll still keep doing those good things we’ve done for others. And its not about losing but about what we’ve done to show appreciation to those who never left us throughout the battle.
This life taught us lessons, not to hurt or punish us, but to show us that we can be strong enough to face any storm. It taught us how we can be better or we can be worse. It taught us that life may not be perfect, but that’s what makes living worthwhile.
“ What has life to offer me
When i grow old
What’s there to look forward to
beyond the biting cold
‘Coz they say it’s difficult
Yes, stereotypical
You gotta be conventional,
You can’t be so radical
So i sing this song to all of my age
For these are the questions
We’ve got to face
For in this cycle that we call life
We are the ones who are next in line.
We are next in line..Oooh…Ohh..
We are next in line….
And we gotta work, we gotta feel,
let’s open our eyes and do whatever it takes”
Just keep living.. Keep loving.. And always keep your feet on the ground.

Loving someone too much and losing him/her might feel like the end of your world, but doesn’t have to be. Not loved by the same person doesn’t mean you’re not good enough. You just have to learn to accept that some things are not meant to happen. And when things don’t happen the way you want them to, that’s because something better will come your way.
Don’t be fooled by words. Let your head control your heart. Blaming the other person does not chase the pain away. Assess yourself too. And when you’ve realized your mistakes, get up and start over again. Don’t go out looking for love. Go out and have fun but make sure you don’t step on someone else’s heart. Don’t play with other people’s feelings just because someone hurt you. Be considerate. You’ll never know, the next person you meet might be the one meant to love you.
Don’t let your mistakes stop you from finding yourself. Keep in mind that you don’t need anyone to make you complete, to make you happy. All you need is to accept who you are, learn to love yourself, with all your assets and flaws. Don’t be proud just because you’re beautiful. Be proud because your beauty isn’t just skin deep. Don’t look for happiness somewhere else. Just look inside your heart. That’s where real happiness lies.
And above all these, pray. Ask for guidance. Because even when we think there’s no hope, He’s the only one who can turn your world around and put you back to where you’re suppose to be.

Each one has a purpose in life but no matter how far we go or how high we climb, we will always go back to those people who, at one point in our lives, showed us that even with its imperfections, life is beautiful. We learned to appreciate how lucky we are to have each other, to have someone to talk to even when there’s nothing to talk about, to laugh, to have someone to cry with. I’ve learned to live my life alone in the big city and I’m proud to say I’ve found friends who, despite my craziness, still loved me, guided me to the right path and will never put me in danger.
Sometimes, its not easy to accept our own fault, its not easy to admit our shortcomings and sometimes we even try to cover them up or blame other people. I know because I’ve done that myself. It doesn’t matter if people will think badly of you because of what you’ve done in the past. What’s important is we admit them, ask forgiveness from those we hurt, forgive ourselves and not to do the same mistakes again. Like the title of one of Bo Sanchez‘ books, “Your past does not define your future”, learn to let go.
I’ve made decisions I thought were good ones at that time. I know that if we want to change, it should always come from within. Friends are only there to show us how to start. And thanks to those who showed me that no matter how bad the decisions were, we always get another chance to make up for them, that we always have a chance for change. That is if we are willing to take the first step.

Last week, I was forced to face my past and deal with the pain and anger I never thought I still have. Crying it out has been a big help but what really made me feel better now was the fact that no matter what happened in the past, I have friends I can count on to love me, cheer me up, make me laugh and make me feel good about myself again. I’ve lost so much weight in two weeks than the last 3 months I’ve been on diet. I thought I was anorexic and psychotic *lol*. But God has been really good to me. He guided me, gave me friends, shown me His love in a way that no one ever loved me before, listened to me when all I can do was pray, comforted me when I cry and hugged me to sleep every night. But God’s not done yet. This afternoon, just before I left for work, I got this surprise in the mail from Caryn who started the creative swap and which I joined in last month.

Surprise in the mail

creative swap goodies
I love the book cover, which by the way I’m going to use as cover for my new notebook ;), and the fancy papers I can use for my scrapbook. She also included a postcard, a cute japanese fan and chocolates!!!
Thanks so much Caryn!

Dear God,
You’ve taught me that things happen for a reason and to trust You even when I’m walking on the darkest street. Teach me to let go of the pain and to understand that I need this to be a better person: someone who deserves Your love, someone who deserves to be called Your child. Make me Your instrument to show love to others. Help me understand that even the worst attack cannot harm me as long as I’m with You. Thank You for guiding me through all these. Thank You for being patient with me. Thank You Lord for loving me.

I finally got a chance to visit Chocolate Lover’s in Cubao. I was overwhelmed by their different chocolate ingredients and supplies that I ended up buying 5 different chocolate molds, 3kls of chocolates, packaging and other chocolate molding equipments. So when I got home, even with sore feet after visiting 3 more malls (Robinson’s Galleria, SM Makati and Glorietta), I made my first batch of pink and white chocolates!

Marble Chocolates

heart shaped chocolate
I know I still have a lot to learn when it comes to making chocolate truffles. And I really want to read more about it. But I can’t seem to find these books anywhere here in the Philippines.

Chocolate Artistry by Elaine Gonzalez

Making Artisan Chocolates by Andrew Garrison Shotts

The Chocolate Lovers' Cookbook by Juliette Cobb
I tried in Powerbooks but all they got was a cookbook (i forgot the title) which costs Php 1200.00+!! It’ll just have to wait..
Since we we’re planning to visit my officemate, who gave birth last week, and our group’s advisor, I spent my sunday making empanada dough so we could bring them empanada. Tonight though, I’m planning to get some sleep and hopefully get to visit Carla’s or Bake Masters in Sucat tomorrow and maybe also try Chocolate Magic in Casimiro to see if they have better chocolate molds
