Safe driving

I have been to talking to a friend last night when we our conversation shifted into driving. It started when she mentioned that she’s close to buying one of those Chevrolet Silverado she has been eyeing for a long time now. I told her that I have always wanted to learn how to drive. Though I know the basic, but I’m still scared of going to highways.

One thing that she advised me is that aside from changing flat tires, I should also learn how to do a brake job. She even told me about her experience when she went to Texas for a vacation. At that time, she didn’t know a thing about changing tires or even inspecting brakes for any wear. She was driving to get something from the grocery store when she heard a noise coming for somewhere inside the car. Good thing that the Dallas auto repair shops are very helpful. Aside from repairing her car, they also gave her some tips on how to recognize a problem.

One thing she learned from that experience is to check on the car before using it even if you only have to drive a short distance. After all, it’s better safe than sorry.

Busy busy busy

It has been really busy since the new school year has officially started. Aside from the fact that I have to help out at my mom’s store (which by the way is an eatery located in front of a school here in Davao), I also have some articles that I need to finish before the deadline and some more planning for my blog contest. I’m dead tired every time we get home and I really don’t have enough time to think of new “personal” topics to post. Please bear with me. Once I settle down and finally get used to the hectic schedule, I’ll be back again. My contest which will start on July will still push through and I’m already half way through the planning stage. Hopefully, everyone can join in the fun.

If you notice this logo in any of my websites (or any logo that looks like this but with different color), that means that my links in that site are made “dofollow” for Google spider. But please be reminded that all comments are moderated. Just one link in the comments field will be marked as spam and will be deleted automatically. And I don’t read spams (well, I do sometimes when I’m bored *lol*). Well anyways, you don’t have to put your link on the comments field since there’s a URL field where your website’s URL should go to.

That’s it for now.

Looking at Kids Recipes For Ideas

Today is my brother’s birthday and I have been thinking for days now on what to cook for his birthday celebration.  Although he’s already turning 25, I can’t help but check for kids recipes to help me decide. I guess I still see him as a kid and seeing those pictures in a kids-recipe book looking cute, I really want to make one for him. It has been a long time since I last tried baking and I really want to try again. It’s not that I’m good at it, which I’m not, but because I want to improve and I want to learn new things. My mom used to bake fondant cakes and I wanted to ask her to make one today hoping that she’ll teach me how she does it. Sadly though, we don’t have enough time to look for fondant and to make a cake so that will just have to wait.

Another thing that I have been thinking of cooking is pasta which is in fact my favorite dish. Though as much as I love my mom’s baked macaroni, this time I want to do it. These past few weeks, I always find myself volunteering to cook and when I told my mom that I want to cook for my brother’s birthday, she told me that she was expecting it though she gave me a list of what I should consider cooking. I don’t mind though because some of the food she listed down is the same ones that I was thinking of cooking.

Although it’s tiring to cook for a birthday celebration, I’m still looking forward to doing it. Cooking, in a way, is a form of relaxation for me and I find it practical that while I’m relaxing, I’m actually cooking up the best birthday celebration for my brother.

Agoraphobic?

Yesterday, after resting from a terrible migraine, I finally gave in to my mom’s urging to go out. We went to Victoria Plaza because I needed to withdraw and since I thought my EON card wasn’t working anymore, I decided to go to Unionbank branch directly in case I’ll be needing assistance (thankfully though, it’s still working fine). Just as I passed through their main entrance, I felt like the whole place is about to collapse and I had difficulty in breathing. Thankfully, it only lasted for a couple of minutes.

Did I confine myself at home for a long time that I actually became agoraphobic? Though the initial symptoms didn’t last, the whole time I was out, I felt dizzy and just before we got home, my migraine came back. It was a very uncomfortable feeling and it’s going to be a long time before anyone can drag me out of the house again.
